When and Where is the Celebration?
Celebration Details
The New Orleans Loving Festival is a Multiracial Community Celebration & Film Festival that challenges racial discrimination through outreach and education.
The "Loving Festival" was inspired by the actions of a Louisiana Justice of the Peace, who refused to issue a marriage license in 2009 to an interracial couple in Hammond, LA. The Loving Festival represents CFN's desire to facilitate constructive community responses to racial prejudice and discrimination. CFN launched the Festival on June 10, 2011 and coordinates ongoing film screenings, discussions and other programs concerning the multiracial experience throughout the year.
Loving Festival programs and activities are FREE and open to the public. Please follow the New Orleans Loving Festival on Facebook for additional details.
