There are many ways to observe Loving Day on or around June 12th, and our diverse community is always coming up with creative ideas. Here is some inspiration so you can start your own tradition.

Celebrations

These are spaces for affirmation and connection, which are also wonderful for introducing/welcoming new people to the Loving Day community.

These events could be:

  • Family/friend gatherings
  • Community events
  • Food events (barbecues and potlucks are popular)
  • Music, arts, or literary events
  • Games, sports, or recreation

Educational Events

There is always something more to teach and learn about racial justice. The Loving decision is a great place to start.

These events could be:

  • Speakers or panel discussions
  • Group visits to museums or cultural sites
  • Film screenings with Q&A
  • Facilitated conversations
  • Book clubs
