DETAILS: The Mixed Roots Film and Literary Festival will be an annual event celebrating films and literary works exploring racially and culturally Mixed heritages. The Festival is inclusive: anyone who identifies as Mixed, has a trans-racial or trans-cultural adoptive family, or who supports interracial and intercultural relationships is welcome. Acclaimed author Rebecca Walker will present the Mixed Roots Film and Literary Festival Opening Address for the kick-off Loving Day party, celebrating the Supreme Court decision which affirmed the right of people of different races to marry, on June 12, 2008, at 7pm. DJ Life and DJ Vika spin decades of dance floor classics. The party is held in conjunction with the Loving Day celebration in New York City hosted by Loving Day and World Up.
