Celebrating the right to love and build family with who we wish! Loving Day fights racial prejudice through education and builds multicultural community. Loving v. Virginia is the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial marriage in the United States. This landmark civil rights case was decided on June 12th\, 1967. We want to make this day of celebration a new tradition and hope that you will join us!

2012 marks the 45th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia\, the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial marriage in the US. To honor this historic decision\, StoryCorps will hold a special community recording day for multiracial\, multiethnic and mixed heritage individuals\, couples and families.

Join Mavin for our annual event that supports and celebrates Mildred &\; Richard Loving and their landmark Supreme Court victory in 1967 for the right to marry interracially. This victory resulted in the abolition of all remaining laws across all states that made interracial marriage illegal. (Over a dozen states still had laws prohibiting interracial marriage at this time!)
