Let's celebrate in 2010 on a cruise to the Bahamas! We will be cruising on NCL Norwegian Sky, a ship that is great for couples, families and singles. This is a 4 day/3 night cruise leaving Miami, FL and cruising to Nassau, Bahamas and Great Stirrup Cay, then returning to Miami. Prices start at $299pp + taxes. This is going to be great fun!

THE LOVING PROJECT: E-RACE is a dynamic dance theater performance that enlivens imagination and challenges assumptions.

Created and performed by Laura Schandelmeier & Stephen Clapp, with Ilana Faye Silverstein, Mervin Primeaux, and installation artist Lorne Covington.

The Mixed Roots Film & Literary Festival is a fiscally sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts, and every year brings together film and book lovers, innovative and emerging artists, and Mixed families for two days of workshops, readings, film screenings, a children's event and a live performance.

The Festival has showcased many talented filmmakers, writers, and performers including Rebecca Walker, Kip Fulbeck, Danzy Senna, Kim Wayans & Kevin Knotts, Angela Nissel, Neil Aitken, Sundee Frasier, Karyn Parsons and many, many more.

Of Many Colors: Portraits of Multiracial Families includes photographs and interviews with 20 families (children, teens, and adults) who have bridged the racial divide through interracial relationships and/or adoption.

In a world where race is considered by many to be a formidable barrier between people, the families in this traveling exhibit have discovered richness and value in diversity. This exhibit of multiracial families has a great deal to teach about racial identity and racism.

The Festival is a fiscally sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts, a non-profit organization, celebrating stories of the Mixed experience. Each year the Festival brings together film and book lovers, innovative and emerging artists, and multiracial families and individuals for two days of workshops, readings, film screenings and live performance including music, comedy and spoken word.

Loving Day is an annual celebration held on June 12, the anniversary of the 1967 United States Supreme Court decision Loving vs. Virginia which struck down all anti-miscegenation laws remaining in 16 states citing "There can be no doubt that restricting the freedom to marry solely because of racial classifications violates the central meaning of the equal protection clause." In the United States, anti-miscegenation laws were state laws banning interracial marriage, mainly forbidding marriage between non-whites and whites.

Celebrate Loving Day with StoryCorps San Francisco at the CJM!

2011 marks the 44th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial marriage in the US. To honor this historic decision, StoryCorps will hold a special community recording and art-making day for multiracial, multiethnic and mixed heritage individuals, couples and families.

On June 12, 1967, the U.S. Supreme Court legalized interracial marriage, overturning anti-miscegenation laws in the 16 states where they still existed.

Join us in celebrating love in all its forms this Sunday for a casual afternoon at the beach. Look for the shade tent and the Loving Dan San Diego sign and check Facebook that afternoon for details on our location on the beach.

Lunch on Sunday the 12th to mark Loving Day at Egyptian restaurant Cleopatra in Kobe! Loving Day is a celebration of multicultural understanding and social dialogue. The day marks the victory of the case Loving v. Virginia which repealed all laws outlawing interracial marriage in every U.S. state in 1967.

Mixed Roots Japan has been the first overseas group to host an event on this day since 2008 while the movement has spread to as far as Spain. Big or small, an event to mark the day helps move towards greater social dialogue and understanding for diversity in Japan. Come join us!

So lets all celebrate our heritage to love unconditionally.

Join MAVIN in our annual Loving Day celebration - a community and family event that honors and commemorates the Supreme Court decision, Loving v. Virginia 1967, that legalized interracial marriage in the United States.

We are excited to host this year's event at the West Seattle Youngstown Cultural Arts Center. There will be snacks & beverages, local artist entertainment, kids' activities, a raffle, information on Loving Day and MAVIN, and the opportunity to meet others in the community who share the goal of a healthy and racially just society!

This is a family affair event, so bring your children and let's make this important date a day to remember.

Bring a blanket and a picnic lunch! We will provide food and drink for the first 50 people. There will be music and a good time for everyone!

A casual social interaction for people who share the dream of a peacefully unified humanity and wish to honor Richard and Mildred Loving the couple whose marriage challenged and changed anti-miscegenation laws on June 12, 1967. A day in the Martin Luther King Jr. park with children's activities, acoustic music (drum circle), Molove basketball, potluck food and donated food from local businesses. The park is small yet it needs some of our LOVE. After all it is named after the greatest peace maker of all time.
