The arranged activities include a speech from the hostess who at the same time offers the course, a role play which involves a would-be couple from different cultures and their parents, a debate among all students over whether the couple should get married as planned, presentations on marriage customs of Africa and North America, and a discussion on how to solve added problems that different cultures might bring to a marriage.

The parents of President Barack Obama, as well as my own parents, could have been arrested and imprisoned for marrying prior to that day. The repeal of these laws were a very important step in the civil rights movement.

The Mixed Roots Film & Literary Festival is a fiscally sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts, and every year brings together film and book lovers, innovative and emerging artists, and Mixed families for two days of workshops, readings, film screenings, a children's event and a live performance.

The Festival has showcased many talented filmmakers, writers, and performers including Rebecca Walker, Kip Fulbeck, Danzy Senna, Kim Wayans & Kevin Knotts, Angela Nissel, Neil Aitken, Sundee Frasier, Karyn Parsons and many, many more.

In celebration of Loving Day, the Fulton State Hospital's Cultural Competence Council is offering an educational display and photo exhibit to the community. The Council has once again teamed up with the Callaway Arts Council to offer another educational opportunity to the public. Come celebrate with us and view the inspiring photos and stories of interracial couples and families. There will be food vendors, art vendors, and great Jazz music in the open air on Westminster College's front lawn.

We will be hosting a picnic in the park in honor of Loving Day. It will be hot so make sure you're ready to cool off in the splash pad.

Ten Thousand Villages is celebrating Loving Day. Loving Day is celebration held on June 12, the anniversary of the 1967 United States Supreme Court decision Loving vs. Virginia which struck down all anti-miscegenation laws. Come celebrate all families, everywhere!

“Emerging Paradigms in Critical Mixed Race Studies,” the first annual Critical Mixed Race Studies Conference, will be held at DePaul University in Chicago on November 5-6, 2010.

The CMRS conference brings together scholars from a variety of disciplines nationwide. Recognizing that the diverse disciplines that have nurtured Mixed Race Studies have reached a watershed moment, the 2010 CMRS conference is devoted to the general theme “Emerging Paradigms in Critical Mixed Race Studies.”

Celebrate the 44th anniversary of the 'Loving v. the State of Virginia' Supreme Court decision to legalize interracial marriage nationwide! Until June 12, 1967 there were many states in America where it was ILLEGAL to marry someone outside your race. The parents of President Barack Obama, as well as many of our own parents, could have been arrested and imprisoned for marrying prior to that day. The repeal of these laws was a very important step in the civil rights movement.

On June 12, 1967, interracial marriage was made legal as a result of the historic court case Loving vs. Virginia. Since then June 12th has become Loving Day, a day of national recognition that honors diversity consciousness, inter-racial/ethnic/religious harmony, and the right to love without limits.

Please join us as we celebrate Loving Day, at our cocktail party on June 10th. A percentage of drink proceeds will be donated to Metro TeenAIDS, a DC organization that educates youth on HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness.

Of Many Colors: Portraits of Multiracial Families includes photographs and interviews with 20 families (children, teens, and adults) who have bridged the racial divide through interracial relationships and/or adoption.

In a world where race is considered by many to be a formidable barrier between people, the families in this traveling exhibit have discovered richness and value in diversity. This exhibit of multiracial families has a great deal to teach about racial identity and racism.

The Festival is a fiscally sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts, a non-profit organization, celebrating stories of the Mixed experience. Each year the Festival brings together film and book lovers, innovative and emerging artists, and multiracial families and individuals for two days of workshops, readings, film screenings and live performance including music, comedy and spoken word.

This will be our second annual celebration of Loving Day. Please join us at the shelter after noon. We are planning to provide food and drinks. Loving Day is an annual celebration held on June 12, the anniversary of the 1967 United States Supreme Court decision Loving vs. Virginia which struck down all anti-miscegenation laws remaining in 16 states citing "There can be no doubt that restricting the freedom to marry solely because of racial classifications violates the central meaning of the equal protection clause." In the United States, anti-miscegenation laws were state laws banning interracial marriage, mainly forbidding marriage between non-whites and whites.

Celebrate Loving Day with StoryCorps San Francisco at the CJM!

2011 marks the 44th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial marriage in the US. To honor this historic decision, StoryCorps will hold a special community recording and art-making day for multiracial, multiethnic and mixed heritage individuals, couples and families.

On June 12, 1967, the U.S. Supreme Court legalized interracial marriage, overturning anti-miscegenation laws in the 16 states where they still existed.

Lunch on Sunday the 12th to mark Loving Day at Egyptian restaurant Cleopatra in Kobe! Loving Day is a celebration of multicultural understanding and social dialogue. The day marks the victory of the case Loving v. Virginia which repealed all laws outlawing interracial marriage in every U.S. state in 1967.

Mixed Roots Japan has been the first overseas group to host an event on this day since 2008 while the movement has spread to as far as Spain. Big or small, an event to mark the day helps move towards greater social dialogue and understanding for diversity in Japan. Come join us!

The Loving story is very important to this country’s history of interracial marriage and we are excited to take a look back at the Lovings through Grey Villet's photography. Join Loving Day and Swirl for a collaborated event to see "The Loving Story" exhibit at the International Center of Photography. In 1967, the Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional to prevent interracial marriage in a landmark case known as Loving v. Virginia.
