When and Where is the Celebration?
Come enjoy some cocktails and celebrate Loving Day with us!
WHAT: Loving Day was created to celebrate the Loving v. Virginia case in 1967, which laid the framework for the legalization of interracial marriage in the US.
Our celebration won't be all serious and lecturey. We just want to get together with friends and enjoy each other's company.
WHY: The freedom to love is something most of us take for granted. Like many other freedoms, the right for interracial couples to be together was fought for (and won!) and we think it's worth celebrating.
WHO: You and your friends! This is an open celebration.
WHEN: Saturday, June 14th at 8:30pm.
WHERE: Rocks on the Roof (above the Bohemian Hotel on River/Bay Street).
ALSO, you may want to bring your dancing shoes because sometimes celebrations involve dancing.
