Come and celebrate Barack's mixed heritage and the Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court Decision that struck down laws against interracial marriage, and the new fight for marriage equality. Reunite with campaign friends and meet new Change movement organizers and volunteers. Find out how you can get more involved with issues like health care, marriage equity, military and veterans outreach, economic recovery, education, the environment and 2010 campaigns. Organizers are invited to discuss upcoming events, projects and plans.
All kids must have on floaties, and be accompanied by an adult at all times! Don't forget to bring sun block and towels.
Please bring any of the following items with you:
* meat/fish/veggie burgers
* burger/hotdog buns
* chips/snacks/desserts
* beverages (water, beer, wine, soda, kids' drinks)
* salads and sides
* fruits and veggies
* ice
Suggested Donation: $10 for Adults, $5 for Kids/Students
Funds raised go to Organizing for Change and San Diego Military and Veterans for Change Outreach Program - La Jolla Democratic Club.
We will also be collecting food and supplies for the Community Resource Center (CRC).The CRC has a critical need for can goods (tomato products, nut butters, meats, vegetables, pastas), dry goods (pastas, beans, rice and grains), hygiene products (babies and adult diapers, feminine hygiene products, baby wipes and green cleaning products), paper goods (toilet and towel paper) and bottled water for needy North Coast families. Please bring these items to the BBQ and we will deliver them to the Community Resource Center's Emergency Food and Supply Pantry.
